Key changes in this revision (effective October 18, 2026) — Reflects overseas peak collections and multilingual availability (Articles 3 and 5), paid services and refunds (Article 6), photo check-in, prohibition of location manipulation, and reporting and blocking (Articles 8 and 9), sources and accuracy of mountain information (Article 11), notes for hiking abroad (Article 12), notice of Service changes (Article 14), in-app account deletion (Article 15), and Apple-related provisions (Article 16).

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of 스프라우트그로우랩스 (the "Company") and users, and other necessary matters, in connection with the use of the Sanlog service (the "Service") provided by the Company.

Article 2 (Definitions)

  • Service: all features the Company provides through its mobile app and website, including recording hike routes and elevation, summit check-in, flags, ridgeline, the peak collection, summit zone Echoes, and Altitude chat.
  • User: a member who uses the Service in accordance with these Terms.
  • Summit check-in: the feature that awards a flag after confirming that the user's location, or the location of a photo taken at the summit, is within the summit radius of the mountain concerned.
  • Posts: Echoes, hike journals, photos, comments, chat messages, and the like that a user posts to the Service.
  • Paid Service: an app or feature provided for a fee through an app marketplace such as the App Store.

Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of Terms; Translations)

These Terms take effect when posted on the Service screens or otherwise announced to users. The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws, and will announce any amendment, stating the effective date and reasons, through an in-Service notice or the website at least 7 days in advance (30 days in advance for amendments that are unfavorable to users). If a user continues to use the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms, the user is deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms, and a user who does not agree may terminate the usage agreement.

The Company may provide translations of these Terms in languages other than Korean, including English, German, and Japanese. Translations, including this English version, are provided for the user's convenience, and if there is any discrepancy between a translation and the Korean Terms, the Korean Terms prevail. However, where the consumer protection laws of the user's country of residence guarantee rights more favorable to the user, those laws apply.

Article 4 (Formation of the Usage Agreement)

The usage agreement is formed when a user agrees to these Terms and applies to sign up through social login or the like, and the Company accepts the application. The Company may restrict or defer sign-up where necessary for operational or technical reasons.

The Service may be used only by persons aged 19 or older, and minors under 19 are restricted from signing up for and using the Service. Users must enter their accurate date of birth, and use may be restricted if a false date is entered.

Article 5 (Provision of the Service)

As a rule, the Company provides the Service 24 hours a day, every day of the year. However, the Company may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service for reasons such as system inspection, equipment maintenance, or communication failures, in which case it will give prior notice.

The Service is provided in Korean, English, German, and Japanese, and provides peak collections and famous-peak lists for the countries designated by the Company, such as Korea, Japan, the US, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The features offered may differ by country, region, and device; for example, some features such as the Black Yak 100 Famous Mountains, hiking gear price tracking, and Kakao login are offered only in Korea.

Article 6 (Paid Services and Refunds)

The Sanlog app is a paid app, and its price is the amount shown on the app's page in the app marketplace such as the App Store. Payment, withdrawal of the order, and refunds are handled in accordance with the policies of the relevant app marketplace and applicable laws, and users may request a refund through the app marketplace. If the Company introduces a Paid Service for which it charges separately within the app, it will clearly notify users of the terms of use and fees in advance.

Article 7 (Obligations of the Company)

  1. The Company complies with applicable laws and these Terms, and strives to provide the Service stably and continuously.
  2. To protect users' personal information, the Company maintains a security system, publishes and complies with the Privacy Policy, and does not provide users' personal information to third parties except as provided by law or the Privacy Policy.
  3. The Company promptly handles legitimate opinions or complaints raised by users in connection with use of the Service, and if immediate handling is difficult, it informs the user of the reason and the schedule for handling.

Article 8 (Obligations of Users)

Users must not engage in any of the following acts.

  • Using another person's information without authorization or registering false information
  • Manipulating location, elevation, or records without actually hiking, using location-spoofing apps, or obtaining summit check-in by altering or misappropriating another person's photo or location information
  • Posting content that defames or insults others or that promotes hatred, sexual discomfort, violence, or discrimination
  • Posting photos containing another person's face or personal information without their consent
  • Collecting the Service in bulk with automated tools (crawling), reverse engineering it, or interfering with the normal operation of the Service
  • Repeatedly posting advertising or promotional content without authorization
  • Acts contrary to laws or public order and morals

Article 9 (Management of Posts; Reporting and Blocking)

The rights to and responsibility for Posts written by a user rest with the author. If a Post violates applicable laws or these Terms, the Company may delete it or restrict its display without prior notice. Users may delete their own Posts at any time.

Users may use the Service's report feature to report inappropriate Posts or block specific users. After reviewing a report, if a violation is confirmed, the Company takes necessary measures such as deleting the Post or restricting use. The Company may restrict the use of, or terminate the usage agreement with, a user who repeatedly violates these Terms.

Copyright in content that users post to the Service (Echoes, hike journals, photos, and the like) belongs to the user. However, the user grants the Company a license to use that content free of charge (including storing, reproducing, modifying, displaying, and transmitting to the public) to the extent necessary for the operation, promotion, and improvement of the Service. If a user deletes a Post or deletes their account, the Company will stop using the relevant content, except where it is obligated to retain it under applicable laws.

Article 10 (Location Information and Photos)

The Service uses location information and the shooting location of photos for hike records and summit check-in. Matters concerning the processing of personal location information are governed by the Location-Based Services Terms and the Privacy Policy. Because summit check-in depends on GPS and photo information, there may be errors depending on the device and environment, and the Company may refuse or cancel a check-in if misuse is suspected.

Article 11 (Sources and Accuracy of Mountain Information)

Mountain names, locations, elevations, and famous-peak lists in the Service are provided on the basis of public data such as Wikidata and OpenStreetMap contributors (© OpenStreetMap contributors), and the Company's own compilation and verification. Some famous-peak lists were selected by the Company and may differ from official lists. The Company does not warrant the accuracy or timeliness of the information, and users who find errors may report them. Trademarks and names of third parties such as Black Yak belong to their respective owners, and this does not imply that the Company is affiliated with those third parties.

Article 12 (Safety and Limitation of Liability)

Hiking is done at the user's own discretion and risk. Information provided by the Service such as routes, elevation, and weather is for reference only, and the Company does not warrant its accuracy or completeness. Users must check weather conditions and their own physical fitness and safety for themselves before hiking, and the Company is not liable for accidents or damage that occur during use of the Service, to the extent permitted by applicable laws.

On overseas mountains, local climbing permits, access restrictions, closed sections, and weather and rescue systems may differ. The fact that a mountain or summit is displayed in the Service does not mean that it can be climbed, and users must follow local laws and regulations and the guidance of the managing authorities. The Service is not a source of safety information or a means of distress rescue, so in an emergency please contact the emergency rescue services of the relevant region.

Article 13 (Push Notifications)

Where the user has allowed it, the Company may send Service notifications such as replies, cheers, and summit flags by push notification. Advertising information is sent only where the user has separately consented, and the user may decline to receive it at any time in the app settings or device settings.

Article 14 (Changes to the Service)

The Company may change all or part of the Service where necessary for operational or technical reasons, and will give prior notice through in-app notifications or the website of changes that materially affect users.

Article 15 (Termination of the Usage Agreement)

A user may delete their account themselves at any time from the Account screen in the app, and the Company will process this without delay in accordance with applicable laws. If a user violates these Terms, the Company may restrict use or terminate the usage agreement.

Article 16 (Apple-Related Provisions)

The following applies where a user obtains the iOS app from the App Store.

  • These Terms are an agreement between the Company and the user, and Apple Inc. ("Apple") is not a party. The Company is responsible for the app and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, the user may notify Apple and receive a refund of the purchase price, and any other warranty liability is borne by the Company to the extent permitted by law.
  • Claims by users or third parties relating to the app (product liability, violation of laws, consumer protection, infringement of intellectual property rights, and the like) are handled by the Company and are not the responsibility of Apple.
  • The user confirms that Apple's rules of use (such as the Apple Media Services Terms) apply to use of the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce these Terms against the user.

Article 17 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. If a dispute arises between the Company and a user in connection with use of the Service, the court having jurisdiction under the procedures prescribed by applicable laws is the competent court. However, where the consumer protection laws of the user's country of residence guarantee the user different rights, those rights are not affected.

Addendum

These Terms take effect on October 18, 2026. The previous Terms (effective July 13, 2026) cease to be effective upon the effectiveness of these Terms.
